Color that Transcends Time and Place…
Have you ever wondered how Pantone comes up with these color palettes? Pantone interviews todays top fashion designers to see what colors they will be featuring. This fall brings about a very playful palate that is almost identical for men and women.
“This is a season of untypical colors – more reflective of the imagination and ingenuity, which makes for an artful collection of colors and combinations not bound by the usual hues for fall,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute.
She goes on to say… “Designers are trying to establish wardrobes that have more of an artful presence. They understand that, unlike before, customers want to get a little fun and creative with their wardrobes. It’s as if they’re saying, ‘Let’s not be quite as serious.’”
Sangria, a deep purple-red hue, is showing up as the most popular color, it’s exotic and glamorous while evoking a feeling of adventure and faraway places.
Aurora Red is a more sophisticated color that add enthusiasm, vigor and liveliness.
Mauve Mist, a romantic, feminine and elegant shade of purple for women.
Radiant Orchid, Pantone’s enchanting color of the year is continues to grace us with it’s delightful, heart centered presence.
Cypress, a majestic, powerful and earthy green to ground to the spectrum.
Bright Cobalt, has a slight green undertone that makes this blue quite cheerful.
Royal Blue, a dignified and versatile shade of blue while still being upbeat.
Misted Yellow, adds a little more sunshine and optimism to this colorful palette.
Aluminum, a light shade of gray to bring balance.
Sea Fog, for men… taking place of the more feminine Mauve Mist. And…
Cognac, is this year’s shade of brown that adds a little bit more class and culture to the mix.
