Hanukkah Inspired Necklace

Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights… I always loved how the celebration was spread out over eight days. This year Hanukkah is December 16th – 24th.

Here is a beautiful necklace you can make to enhance the festivities.  These Cobalt Blue Silver Lined beads are gorgeous, especially paired with the All Metal Silver beads.

If you want to read more about Hanukkah, this website is a great resource.

1). Cut three pieces of leather on a diagonal. Your final pieces will be: 16 inches, 18 inches and 20 inches. Leave each one at least an inch longer on the first cut, as not all the cobalt blue beads fit easily and I recommend that you trim little bits off as you go, so the leather stays firm, on a diagonal. When you are done you can finish it off with a straight edge.

2). Put your beads on the leather in any way that is pleasing to you! Again, not all the cobalt blue beads fit on the leather (I found that about half did not). Just use the ones that easily fit. If you want to follow this pattern, you can see what I did here:

3). Open up your clasp. Put one to two drops of glue inside, insert your leather all at once, in a cluster (carefully so that the glue doesn’t spill out). Hold it for about 30 seconds.

That’s it!

Have fun,
