Lucite Mum Necklace and Ring

Have you created something fun with Bello Modo’s selection of Lucite Cabachons yet? I treasure these, as they allow for really quick and beautiful jewelry projects. I adore the colors they come in, and I always get excited when I find a combination that fits well in the Nunn Design collection of bezels. This ring and necklace set I made with the Mum Cabachons is my favorite by far. Now that I’ve made the green one, I want to make one in every color 🙂 I think the Mums and the ornate design of the pendant and ring bezel compliment each other perfectly!

Ring Materials:

Ring Directions:

Find something to mix your two part epoxy on. This could be a paper plate, a piece of cardboard, or a piece torn off a carton from your recycling bin. Squeeze about a dime sized amount of each part of the epoxy and mix the two parts together well with a toothpick, and using the toothpick smear the epoxy both on the bottom of the Mum cab and in the inside of the ring bezel. The mum may not ‘sit’ all the way into the bottom of the ring bezel, so make sure that you have enough epoxy in there to make a good connection, but not too much that you end up with an epoxy mess. Hold the ring upright or set it into something that allows it to be upright for a minimum of five minutes. After five minutes the epoxy should have a strong enough hold that you can lay it down.

That’s it! Remember you have other colors to choose from in the Mum Cabachons  and different metal finishes to choose from in the rings!

Squeeze about a dime sized amount of each part of the epoxy and mix the two parts together well with a toothpick, and using the toothpick, smear the mixed epoxy both on the bottom of the Mum cab and in the inside of the Pendant  bezel. The mum may not ‘sit’ all the way into the bottom of the pendant bezel, so make sure that you have enough epoxy in there to make a good connection, but not too much that you end up with an epoxy mess. Set the pendant aside on a flat surface so that the epoxy can set. After about five minutes the epoxy should be hard enough to handle the pendant again.
  2. Cut your rosary link chain to about 18”, or whatever length you would like to make your necklace.
  3. Use your two small, 4mm jump-rings to attach each part of your toggle clasp to either end of the chain.
  4. Once the epoxy in your pendant has set enough to handle it, use your large 9mm jump ring to attach the pendant to the chain.

That’s it! Remember you have other colors to choose from in the Mum Cabachons  and different metal finishes to choose from in the pendants !

Enjoy!
