St. Patrick’s day is right around the corner! Some love the green beer and festivities. I myself have always been fond of two things when St. Patty’s day comes around. The first one is the tradition that you can pinch people if they are not wearing green on this day… I tend to like traditions that allow my mischievous side to come out 🙂
The other thing I love about St. patty’s day is all of the Irish limericks and blessings, so today, I offer you this Irish blessing:
“As you slide down the banisters of life, may the splinters never point the wrong way. “
Below is the ‘good luck’ bracelet that I created in the spirit of St. Patricks day. I hope it inspires you to create something of your own that brings you good luck when you wear it!
Materials:
- 1 x Tie on Token – Good Luck
- 13 x Heishi – Disk 4mm Bright Rhodium
- 12 x Beadcap Leaf 5mm Antique Silver
- 14” x Leaf Chain Antique Silver
- 6 x 8mm Round Fern Green-Topaz Blend
- 14 x 6mm Princess Cut 5040 Fern Green
- 1 x Mag-Lok Magnetic Clasp – 8mm Silver Plated
- 10 x Jumpring – Round 4mm, 20G Silver Plate
- 1’ x 49 Strand .018 Diameter Clear 30′
- 2 x Silver Plated 2×2 Crimps – pak of 100
- 2 x Silver Plated Wire Protectors
- 2 x 3 to 1 End Bar Link Antique Pewter pack of 4
Directions:
- Take your foot of beading wire, and slide on one end a crimp bead and a wire protector. Slide the end of the wire back through the crimp bead, and use your crimping pliers to crimp your bead.
- String your beads in the following order: three heishi, one princess cut, one heishi, one princess cut, one bead cap, one round crystal, one bead cap, one princess cut, one heishi, one princess cut, one bead cap, one round crystal, one bead cap… continue this pattern until you get to the end. End the strand with three hieshi’s as you began.
- String on a crimp bead and a wire protector. Run your wire back through the crimp and the three heishi beads on the end. Again, use your crimping pliers to crimp your bead. Trim any excess wire with your cutters.
- Use a jump-ring to attach one end of this strand to the middle hole of one of your 3-1 end bars. Use another jumpring to attach the opposite end to the middle hole of your other 3-1 end bar.
- Cut two lengths of chain at 7” each. Use four jump-rings to attach the ends to the outside holes of the 3-1 end bar. You should now have your three strands together.
- Use two more jump-rings to attach each end of your magnetic clasp to the opposite side of the 3-1 end bars.
- Use two more jump-rings to dangle your Good Luck tie on token to the end of the bracelet.
And you are done! These instructions and materials created a 7&½” long bracelet. If you want yours to be shorter or longer, simply adjust your lengths of chain and number of beads used.
Have fun creating!
