When looking for the larger 18mm skulls for the earring project, I was reminded of the smaller 9 mm sets that we stock and I thought, what perfect necklaces for my children while trick or treating if I combined them with glow in the dark glass rounds and 8/0 Round Reflection beads!!! A simple stringing project with Elastoma makes this another quick project, taking about 30-40 minutes to produce two necklaces.
2 x Howlite Skull 18mm Asst. Set of 9 (You will need 1 blue, 1 green, & 1 brown from each pack for each earring)
2 x Howlite Skull 18mm Assorted Set of 9 (You will need 1 pink, 1 purple, & 1 white from each pack for each earring)
(supplies produce an 18″ necklace, if you want longer or shorter, adjust bead quantities accordingly)
1 x 8mm Round – Glow in the Dark Crystal (strand of 19) (I actually used 21 of these in my design, you can either order 2 strands or simply add in some extra 8/0 Reflection beads near the end to make up the difference in length)
For the necklace, simply choose a pattern and follow it until you have reached your desired length. My pattern was *8mm Round, 8/0 Reflection Bead, Skull, 8/0 Reflection Bead, 8mm Round*. Finish with the knot of your choice. (I used a surgeon’s knot)
- On an Eye Pin, place one heishi, a skull, and another heishi. Repeat twice for each color you are using.
- Finish all with closed loops.
- Using Jump-Rings, attach 3 skulls to each-other, and then, to the Ear Wire.
